Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it.’


The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, ‘We your servants will do as our lord commands.


The Gadites and Reubenites answered, ‘Your servants will do what the Lord has said.


Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses.


Go near and listen to all that the Lord our God says. Then tell us whatever the Lord our God tells you. We will listen and obey.’


Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good,


until the Lord gives them rest, as he has done for you, and until they too have taken possession of the land that the Lord your God is giving them. After that, you may go back and occupy your own land, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you east of the Jordan towards the sunrise.’


Just as we fully obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses.
