Your servant has found favour in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die.


The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.


For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favour and honour; no good thing does he withhold from those whose way of life is blameless.


Good people obtain favour from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.


Then you will win favour and a good name in the sight of God and man.


For those who find me find life and receive favour from the Lord.


This is what the Lord says: ‘The people who survive the sword will find favour in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.’


even if these three men – Noah, Daniel and Job – were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign Lord.
