Yet you say, “What does God know? Does he judge through such darkness?


It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.


When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfil it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfil your vow.


Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, ‘Who sees us? Who will know?’


Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?’ declares the Lord. ‘Do not I fill heaven and earth?’ declares the Lord.


Ephraim has surrounded me with lies, Israel with deceit. And Judah is unruly against God, even against the faithful Holy One.


when a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to bind himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.


when anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path.


Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.


The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.


As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, ‘What you are about to do, do quickly.’


With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.


Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.’


Peter said to her, ‘How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.’


If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.


Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.


Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
