Though Jehovah is high, yet He has respect to the lowly; but the proud He knows afar off.


he does not backbite with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor;


For You will save the afflicted people, but will bring down high looks.


You sit; you speak against your brother; you slander your own mother's son.


You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


You shall not raise a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.


He who hides hatred with lying lips, and he who speaks a slander, is a fool.


A gossip is a revealer of secrets; so do not mix with him who flatters with his lips.


A high look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.


The north wind drives away rain; so does an angry face a backbiting tongue.


There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up.


The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the pride of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.


In you are men of slander to shed blood; and in you they eat on the mountains; in your midst they do unchaste acts.


Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and exalt and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth and His ways judgment. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.


You shall not go as a slanderer among your people; you shall not stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am Jehovah.


I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.


But now I have written to you not to associate intimately, if any man called a brother and is either a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one not to eat.


Even so their wives are to be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.


Let the aged women likewise be in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved by much wine, teachers of good;


Talk no more so very proudly. Remove arrogance out of your mouth, for Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.
