You have said, It is vain to serve God; and, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of Hosts?


saying, These last have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and heat of the day.


And he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and entreated him.


But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fattened calf.


I say to you that likewise joy shall be in Heaven over one sinner who repents, more than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.


So likewise you, when you shall have done all the things commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants, for we have done what we ought to do.


And He spoke this parable to certain ones who trusted in themselves, that they were righteous, and despised others:


For I feared you, because you are a harsh man. You take up what you did not lay down, and you reap what you did not sow.


For they, being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.


because by the works of the Law none of all flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law is the knowledge of sin.


Then where is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.


For I was alive without the law once. But when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.


He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give to him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows except he who receives it .
