For he pressed down and forsook the poor; he stole a house, but he had not built it.


He crouches and bows, and the poor have fallen by his might.


You have seen it; for You behold mischief and vexation, to repay it with Your hand. The poor commits himself to You; You are the Helper of the fatherless.


The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; let them be taken in the plans that they have imagined.


He sits in the hiding-places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the poor.


For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, I will now arise, says Jehovah. I will set in safety, he pants for it.

and if you have respect to him who has the fancy clothing and say to him, You sit here in a good place, and say to the poor, You stand there, or sit here under my footstool;


Behold, the hire of the laborers reaping your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts.


You have condemned and murdered the just; he does not resist you.
