Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; Because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;


He croucheth, and humbleth himself, That the poor may fall by his strong ones.


Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The poor committeth himself unto thee; Thou art the helper of the fatherless.


The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: Let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.


He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: In the secret places doth he murder the innocent: His eyes are privily set against the poor.


For the oppression of the poor, For the sighing of the needy, Now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.


Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, Because the LORD is his refuge.


He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: But he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.


Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: And he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.


The poor useth intreaties; But the rich answereth roughly.

If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.

and ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:


Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.


Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.
