He comes forth like a flower, and withers; he also flees as a shadow, and does not stand.


My days are like a shadow stretched out; and I wither like grass.


As for man, his days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.


For they shall soon wither like the grass; and fade as the green herb.


Surely a man walks about like a shadow! Surely they are in an uproar in vain. He heaps up, and does not know who shall gather them.


The voice said, Cry! And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the beauty of it is as the flower of the field.


The grass withers, the flower fades, because the Spirit of Jehovah blows on it; surely the people is grass.


For so says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity; whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, even with the contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.


For all those My hand has made, and all those exist, says Jehovah. But to this one I will look, to the afflicted and contrite spirit, and the one who trembles at My Word.


Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.


Therefore if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much rather clothe you, little-faiths?


And they who use this world are as not abusing it, for the fashion of this world is passing away.


But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ


Charge the rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things to enjoy,


who do not know of the morrow. For what is your life? For it is a vapor, which appears for a little time, and then disappears.


For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of men as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls out,


And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.
