Surely a man walks about like a shadow! Surely they are in an uproar in vain. He heaps up, and does not know who shall gather them.


Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them.


I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins; return to Me; for I have redeemed you.


For so says Jehovah, You were sold for nothing; and you shall not be redeemed with silver.


O Jehovah, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and there is no profit in them.


At that time it shall be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind from the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of My people, not to sift nor to cleanse.


But we will certainly do whatever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our rulers, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.


but they have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.


But I said to their sons in the wilderness, Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols.


So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Judah, yea for four, I will not turn away from it; because they have despised the Laws of Jehovah, and have not kept His commandments. And their lies after which their fathers walked led them astray.

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?


Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.


And again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain."


for you are bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.


You are bought with a price, do not be the slaves of men.


who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our Father,


This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should not walk from now on as other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,


who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.


nor by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered once for all into the Holies, having obtained eternal redemption for us.


so that the trial of your faith (being much more precious than that of gold that perishes, but being proven through fire) might be found to praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,


For the time of life which is past is enough for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, parties, carousings, and abominable idolatries.


And you know that He was revealed that He might take away our sins, and in Him is no sin.
