Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.


And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.


I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.


all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.


And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.


and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.


And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.


But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.


But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.


And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?


he is like a man which built a house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it; for it was founded upon a rock.


Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Caper´na-um.


Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.


For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.


And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.


For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.


For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.


They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
