29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Haz´a-el king of Syria. And Ahazi´ah the son of Jeho´ram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.


Jehu met with the brethren of Ahazi´ah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahazi´ah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.


And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Haz´a-el king of Syria in Ra´moth–gil´e-ad; and the Syrians wounded Joram.


And Eli´sha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ra´moth–gil´e-ad:


So Jehu the son of Jehosh´aphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram had kept Ra´moth–gil´e-ad, he and all Israel, because of Haz´a-el king of Syria.


And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesul´loth, and Shunem,
