The LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.


Come, let's go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.*


He said to Avram, *Know for sure that your seed will live as foreigners in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them. They will afflict them four hundred years.


I will also judge that nation, whom they will serve. Afterward they will come out with great wealth,


I will go down now, and see whether their deeds are as bad as the reports which have come to me. If not, I will know.*


Their father, Yisra'el, said to them, *If it must be so, then do this. Take from the choice fruits of the land in your bags, and carry down a present for the man, a little balm, a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts, and almonds;


I will go down with you into Egypt. I will also surely bring you up again. Yosef will close your eyes.*


Yosef said to his brothers, *I am dying, but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov.*


and the Chivvi, and the `Arki, and the Sini,


and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Kena`ani, the Chittite, the Amori, and the Perizzi, and the Yevusi, and the Girgashi, to give it to his seed, and have performed your words; for you are righteous.


*Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,* says the LORD; *I will set him in safety from those who malign him.*


The words of the LORD are flawless words, as silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.


Oh taste and see that the LORD is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.


He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.


It happened at the end of four hundred thirty years, even the same day it happened, that all the armies of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt.


It happened the same day, that the LORD brought the children of Yisra'el out of the land of Egypt by their armies.


It shall be, when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Kena`ani, and the Chittite, and the Amori, and the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.


and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Kena`ani, the Chittite, the Amori, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, to a land flowing with milk and honey.*'


Observe that which I command you this day. Behold, I drive out before you the Amori, the Kena`ani, the Chittite, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi.


For since I came to Par`oh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people; neither have you delivered your people at all.*


until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.


Oh that you would tear the heavens, that you would come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence,


that I may establish the oath which I swore to your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day. Then answered I, and said, Amein, LORD.


I brought you into a plentiful land, to eat the fruit of it and the goodness of it; but when you entered, you defiled my land, and made my heritage an abomination.


and gave them this land, which you did swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;


in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.


But I have said to you, *You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey.* I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples.


Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amori.


and see the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;


and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;


They told him, and said, We came to the land where you sent us; and surely it flows with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.


No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.


For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.


They took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down to us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God gives to us.


turn, and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amori, and to all [the places] near there, in the `Aravah, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and in the South, and by the seashore, the land of the Kena`anim, and Levanon, as far as the great river, the river Perat.


and you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you are passed over; that you may go in to the land which the LORD your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.


The LORD will make you plenteous for good, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.


Hear therefore, Yisra'el, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.


When the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before you, the Chittite, and the Girgashi, and the Amori, and the Kena`ani, and the Perizzi, and the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, seven nations greater and mightier than you;


For the children of Yisra'el walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, even the men of war who came forth out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn't listen to the voice of the LORD: to whom the LORD swore that he wouldn't let them see the land which the LORD swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.


It happened, when all the kings who were beyond the Yarden, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Levanon, the Chittite, and the Amori, the Kena`ani, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, heard of it;


The men of Yisra'el said to the Chivvi, What if you dwell among us; and how shall we make a covenant with you?
