2 He said, “My servant Moses is dead. Get ready now, you and all the people of Israel, and cross the Jordan River into the land that I am giving them.

You gave them as many children as there are stars in the sky, and let them conquer and live in the land that you had promised their ancestors to give them.


“Did you notice my servant Job?” the Lord asked. “There is no one on earth as faithful and good as he is. He worships me and is careful not to do anything evil.”


The Lord says, “Here is my servant, whom I strengthen— the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation.


It is different when I speak with my servant Moses; I have put him in charge of all my people Israel.


Give Joshua his instructions. Strengthen his determination, because he will lead the people across to occupy the land that you see.’


Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all the people of Israel, “Be determined and confident; you are the one who will lead these people to occupy the land that the Lord promised to their ancestors.


So Moses, the Lord's servant, died there in the land of Moab, as the Lord had said he would.


After the death of the Lord's servant Moses, the Lord spoke to Moses' helper, Joshua son of Nun.
