A person told David, “Ahithophel is one of the people who made plans with Absalom.” Then David prayed, “Lord, I ask you to make Ahithophel’s advice useless.”


Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Please tell us what we should do.”


The battle spread through all the country. But that day more men died in the forest than by the sword.


Those proud people set a trap for me.\par They spread a net to catch me.\par They set a trap in my path.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [639]})\i0 \par


Lord, judge me.\par Prove that I have lived a pure life.\par I never stopped trusting the Lord.\par


Lord, fight my battles.\par Fight my wars!\par


Lord my God, judge me with your fairness.\par Don’t let those people laugh at me.\par


You destroy people who tell lies.\par You hate people who make secret plans\par to hurt other people.\par


Strangers that don’t even worship God\par have turned against me.\par Those powerful men are trying to kill me.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [324]})\i0 \par


Lord, judge the people.\par Gather the nations around you,\par


and judge the people.\par Lord, judge me.\par Prove that I am right.\par Prove that I am innocent.\par


Punish the bad people,\par and help the good people.\par God, you are good.\par And you can look into peoples’ hearts.\par


My God, save me from wicked people.Save me from cruel, evil people.


God is the judge.\par And God decides who will be important.\par God lifts up one person\par and makes him important,\par God brings down another person\par and makes him not important.\par


The Lord is on their side. He supports them and he will take things away from any person that takes from them.


The Lord will be against you. The Lord is powerful and he defends those orphans.


I sinned against the Lord.\par So he was angry at me.\par But he will argue my case for me in court.\par He will do the things that are right for me.\par Then he will bring me out into the light.\par And I will see that he is right.\par


I don’t know of any wrong that I have done. But that does not make me innocent (without guilt). The Lord is the One who judges me.


People said bad things to Christ, but he did not say bad things to them. Christ suffered, but he did not threaten (speak against) the people. No! Christ let God take care of him. God is the One who judges rightly.


Let the Lord be the judge. Let him decide between you and me. The Lord will support me and show that I am right. The Lord will save me from you.”
