One nation would destroy another nation and one city would destroy another city. This was happening because God troubled them with all kinds of trouble.

\{God says,\} “I will cause the people of Egypt to fight against themselves. Men will fight their brothers. Neighbors will be against neighbors. Cities will be against cities. States will be against states. {\cf2\super [187]}

The Lord All-Powerful punished you with earthquakes, thunder, and loud noises. There were storms, strong winds, and fire that burned and destroyed.

I will completely destroy that city! But this won’t happen until the right man becomes the new king. Then I will let him (the king of Babylon) have this city.”

There will be great earthquakes, sicknesses, and other bad things in many places. In some places there will be no food for the people to eat. Terrible things will happen, and amazing things will come from heaven to warn people.

One of these prophets was named Agabus. In Antioch, Agabus stood up and spoke. With the help of the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [230]} he said, “A very bad time is coming to the whole world. There will be no food for people to eat.” (This time without food happened when Claudius was emperor. {\cf2\super [231]})

I will show amazing things\par in the sky above.\par I will give proofs\par on the earth below.\par There will be blood, fire,\par and thick smoke.\par

The words “once again” clearly show us that everything that was made will be destroyed. Those are the things that can be shaken. And only the things that cannot be shaken will continue.

Then I watched while the Lamb opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun became dark like \{black\} cloth made from hair. The full moon became red like blood.

The Lamb opened the third seal. Then I heard the third living thing say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse. The rider on the horse held a pair of scales in his hand.

Then I heard something that sounded like a voice. The voice came from where the four living things were. The voice said, “A quart of wheat for a day’s pay. And three quarts of barley for a day’s pay. And don’t hurt the oil and wine!”

I looked and there before me was a pale-colored horse. The rider on the horse was death. Hades {\cf2\super [50]} was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth. They were given power to kill people by using the sword, by starving, by disease, and with the wild animals of the earth.
