\{Job said,\} “We are all human beings. {\cf2\super [24]} Our life is short and full of trouble.


But man is born to have trouble,\par as sure as sparks fly up from a fire.\par


My soul, relax!\par The Lord is caring for you.\par


God, you made life harder and harder on me, day and night.\par I became like a dry, dry land in the hot summertime.\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [199]})\i0 \par


I am guilty of doing bad things.\par And that guilt is like a heavy weight.\par \{I am too ashamed\} to hold my head up.\par


God, you will help that person stay calm\par when trouble comes.\par You will help him stay calm\par until the evil people are put in their grave.\par


I looked at all the things done on earth, and I saw that it is all a waste of time. It is like trying to catch the wind. {\cf2\super [6]}


Words can’t fully explain things. {\cf2\super [3]} But people continue speaking. {\cf2\super [4]} Words come again and again to our ears. But our ears don’t become full. And our eyes don’t become full of the things we see.


A person might not have any family. He might not have a son or even a brother. But that person will continue to work very, very hard. That person is never satisfied with what he has. And he works so hard that he never stops and asks himself, “Why am I working so hard? Why don’t I let myself enjoy my life?” This is also a very bad and senseless thing.


The nation of Israel is full of guilt. This guilt is like a heavy weight the people have to carry. Those people are like bad children from evil families. They left the Lord. They insulted the Holy One (God) of Israel. They left him and treated him like a stranger.


At that time, there will be a special person from Jesse’s {\cf2\super [135]} family. This person will be like a flag. This “flag” will show all the nations that they should come together around him. The nations will ask him the things they should do. And the place where he is will be filled with glory.


In the past God spoke to those people, and he said, “Here is a resting place. This is the peaceful place. Let the tired people come and rest. This is the place of peace.”


God sent me to the sad people of Zion. \{I will get them ready for the celebration.\} I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. I will take away their sadness, and I will give them the oil of happiness. I will take away their sorrow, and I will give them celebration clothes. God sent me to name those people ‘Good Trees’ and ‘The Lord’s Wonderful Plant.’


I myself made all things.\par All things are here because I made them.”\par The Lord himself said these things.\par “Tell me, what people do I care for?\par I care for the poor people.\par I care for the people that are very sad.\par I care for people that obey my words.\par


I will give rest and strength to the people that are weak and tired.”


The descendants of Jonadab obeyed the commands that their ancestor gave them. But the people of Judah have not obeyed me.”


The Lord says these things:\par “Stand at the crossroads and look.\par Ask where the old road is.\par Ask where the good road is,\par and walk on that road.\par If you do, you will find rest for yourselves.\par But you people have said,\par ‘We will not walk on the good road!’\par


Accept my work and learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit. And you will find rest for your souls.


They make strict rules that are hard for people to obey. They try to force other people to obey all those rules. But they themselves will not try to follow any of those rules.


The Father gives me my people. Every one of those people will come to me. I will always accept every person that comes to me.


The last day of the festival came. It was the most important day. On that day Jesus stood and said with a loud voice, “If a person is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.


So now, why are you putting a heavy burden {\cf2\super [307]} around the necks of the non-Jewish brothers? Are you trying to make God angry? We and our fathers {\cf2\super [308]} were not able to carry that burden!


I always showed you that you should work like I did and help people that are weak. I taught you to remember the words of the Lord Jesus. Jesus said, ‘You will be happier when you give than when you receive.’”


We have freedom now. Christ made us free. So stand strong. Don’t change and go back into the slavery \{of law\}.


And God will give peace to you people who are troubled. And he will give peace to us. God will give us this help when the Lord Jesus is shown to us. Jesus will come from heaven with his powerful angels.


And we still have that promise God gave those people. That promise is that we can enter and have God’s rest. {\cf2\super [22]} So we should be very careful, so that none of you fail to get that promise.


The Spirit {\cf2\super [178]} and the bride say, “Come!” Every person that hears this should also say, “Come!” If a person is thirsty, let him come; that person can have the water of life as a free gift if he wants it.
