The things a good man does are like the Tree of Life. {\cf2\super [14]} A wise man gives new life to people. {\cf2\super [15]}


”The priests joined in the people’s sins. They wanted more and more of those sins. {\cf2\super [35]}


But that person does not let the teaching go deep into his life. He keeps that teaching only a short time. When trouble or persecution {\cf2\super [183]} comes because of the teaching he accepted, then he quickly quits.


I tell you the truth. A grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die. Then it grows and makes many seeds. But if it never dies, then it will always be only a single seed.


You did not choose me; I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and make fruit. I want this fruit to continue \{in your life\}. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.


But Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth. The Son can do nothing alone. The Son does only what he sees his Father doing. The Son does the same things that the Father does.


This man (Jesus) must be from God. If he were not from God, he could not do anything \{like this\}.”


Jesus is the only One who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. We must be saved through Jesus!”


In the same way, we are many people, but in Christ we are all one body. We are the parts of that body. And each part of that body belongs to all the other parts.


But now you are free from sin. You are now slaves of God. And this brings you a life that is only for God. And from that you will get life forever.


In the same way, my brothers and sisters, your old selves died and you became free from the law {\cf2\super [52]} through the body of Christ. Now you belong to someone else. You belong to the One (Christ) that was raised from death. We belong to Christ so that we can be used in service to God.


The cup of blessing {\cf2\super [70]} that we give thanks for is a sharing in the blood (death) of Christ, isn’t it? And the bread that we break is a sharing in the body of Christ, isn’t it?


A person’s body is only one thing, but it has many parts. Yes, there are many parts to a body, but all those parts make only one body. Christ is like that too:


All of you together are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of that body.


We cannot do things that are against the truth. We can only do things that are for the truth.


God is the One who gives seed to the person who plants. And he gives bread for food. And God will give you \{spiritual\} seed and make your seed grow. He will make a great harvest from your goodness (giving).


But the Spirit {\cf2\super [74]} gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,


Light brings every kind of goodness, right living, and truth.


that you will do many good things\par with the help of Christ\par to bring glory and praise to God.\par


I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.


Really, it is not that I want to get gifts from you. But I want you to have the good that comes \{from giving\}.


that you will use these things to live in a way that brings honor to the Lord and pleases him in every way;\par that you will do all kinds of good things and grow in the knowledge of God;\par


that was told to you. Everywhere in the world that Good News is bringing blessings and growing. This same thing has happened with you since the time you heard that Good News and understood the truth about the grace (kindness) of God.


Everything good comes from God. And every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky (sun, moon, stars). But God never changes \{like those lights\}. He is always the same.


The Lord \{Jesus\} is the “stone {\cf2\super [13]} ” that lives. The people \{of the world\} decided they did not want that stone (Jesus). But he was the stone God chose. To God he was worth much. So come to him.


But grow in the grace (kindness) and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glory be to him now and forever! Amen.
