The Lord can stop wars\par anywhere on earth.\par He can break the soldiers’ bows,\par shatter their spears.\par and burn their shields. {\cf2\super [283]} \par


The God of Jacob yelled at those soldiers,\par and that army with chariots and horses fell dead.\par


Then Moses and the people of Israel began singing this song to the Lord:


“Sing to the Lord! He has done great things. He threw horse and rider into the sea…”


He threw Pharaoh’s chariots and soldiers into the sea. Pharaoh’s very best soldiers drowned in the Red Sea. [98]


“The people that fight against me with their chariots, {\cf2\super [386]} horses, and armies will be defeated. They will never rise again. They will be destroyed. They will be stopped like the flame of a candle {\cf2\super [387]} is stopped.


Sword, kill the horses and chariots of Babylon.\par Sword, kill all the soldiers hired\par from other countries.\par Those soldiers will be\par like frightened women.\par Sword, destroy the treasures of Babylon.\par Those treasures will be taken away.\par


You will have plenty of meat to eat at my table. There will be horses and chariot \{drivers\}, powerful soldiers, and all the other fighting men.’” The Lord my Master said those things.


The Lord says,\par “At that time,\par I will take away your horses,\par and I will destroy your chariots. {\cf2\super [68]} \par


The Lord All-Powerful says,\par “I am against you, \{Nineveh\}!\par I will burn your chariots.\par I will kill your ‘young lions’ in battle.\par You will not hunt anyone on earth again.\par People will never again hear bad news\par from your messengers.”\par


And I will overthrow many kings and kingdoms. I will destroy the power of the kingdoms of those other people. I will destroy their chariots {\cf2\super [12]} and their riders. I will defeat their war horses and riders. Those armies are friends now, but they will turn against each other and kill each other with swords.


\{They will defeat their enemy\}—it will be like soldiers marching through mud in the streets. They will fight, and since the Lord is with them, they will defeat even the enemy soldiers riding horses.


But at that time, I will scare the horse, and the soldier riding it will panic. I will make all the enemy horses blind, but my eyes will be open—and I will be watching over Judah’s family.


Come together so that you can eat the bodies of rulers and army commanders and famous men. Come to eat the bodies of the horses and their riders and the bodies of all people—free, slave, small, and great.”
