God puts bandages\par on the wounds he makes.\par He might injure someone,\par but his hands also heal.\par


God forgives us for all the sins we do.\par He heals all our sicknesses.\par


God gave the command and healed them.\par So those people were saved from the grave.\par


But the Lord says:\par “Bad people stole from the poor people.\par They took things from helpless people.\par But now I will stand and defend those weary (tired) people.”\par


I look around,\par and I don’t see any of my friends.\par I have no place to run.\par No person is trying to save me.\par


He gives new strength to my soul\par for the good of his name.\par He leads me on paths of goodness, {\cf2\super [139]} \par to show he is truly good.\par


The Lord said, “You must obey the Lord, your God. You must do the things he says are right. If you obey all the Lord’s commands and laws, then you will not be sick like the Egyptians. I, the Lord, will not give you any of the sicknesses I gave the Egyptians. I am the Lord. I am the one who makes you well.”


God will raise this “flag” as a sign for all people. The people of Israel and Judah were forced to leave their country. The people were scattered to all the faraway places on earth. But God will gather them together.


At that time, the light from the moon will be bright like the sun. The light from the sun will be seven times brighter than now. The light from the sun in one day will be like a full week. These things will happen when the Lord bandages his broken people and heals the hurts from their beatings.


No person living there will say, “I am sick.” The people living there are people whose sins are forgiven.


You were like a woman\par whose husband had left her.\par You were very sad in your spirit,\par but the Lord called you to be his.\par You were like a woman that married young, and her husband left her.\par But God called you to be his.\par


The Lord my Master said these things.


I saw where Israel went.\par So, I will heal (forgive) him.\par I will comfort him\par and say words to make him feel better.\par Then he and his people will not feel sad.\par


I will teach them a new word:\par ‘Peace.’\par I will give peace to the people near me\par and to the people that are far away.\par I will heal (forgive) those people!”\par The Lord himself said these things.\par


If you do these things, your light will begin shining like the light of dawn. Then your wounds will heal. Your “Goodness” (God) will walk in front of you, and the Glory of the Lord {\cf2\super [446]} will come following behind you.


“You will never again be left alone.\par You will never again be hated.\par You will never again be empty.\par I will make you great forever.\par You will be happy forever and ever.\par


My tent is ruined.\par All the tent’s ropes are broken.\par My children left me.\par They are gone.\par No person is left to put up my tent.\par No person is left to fix a shelter for me.\par


Lord, if you heal me,\par I truly will be healed.\par Save me,\par and I truly will be saved.\par Lord, I praise you!\par


\{The Lord also said,\}\par “People of Israel, you are unfaithful to me.\par But come back to me!\par Come back and I will forgive {\cf2\super [19]} you\par for being unfaithful to me.”\par


There is no person to care for your sores.\par So you will not be healed.\par


“Jeremiah, have you heard what the people are saying? Those people are saying, ‘The Lord turned away from the two families of Israel and Judah. The Lord chose those people, but now he does not even accept them as a nation.’”


“But then I will heal the people in that city. I will let those people enjoy peace and safety.


Surely there is some medicine in Gilead.\par Surely there is a doctor in Gilead.\par So why are the hurts of my people\par


The people that pass by on the road\par clap their hands at you in shock.\par They whistle and shake their heads\par at the Daughter of Jerusalem.\par They ask,\par “Is this the city that people called,\par ‘The Perfectly Beautiful City’ and\par ‘The Joy of all the Earth’?”\par


“I will search for the lost sheep. I will bring back the sheep that were scattered. I will put bandages on the sheep that were hurt. I will make the weak sheep strong. But I will destroy those fat and powerful \{shepherds\}. I will feed them the punishment they deserve.”


And then you too will know that I have heard all your insults. You said many bad things against the mountain of Israel. You said, ‘Israel has been destroyed! We will chew them up like food!’


But even in those other nations they ruined my good name. How? Those nations said, ‘These are the Lord’s people, but they left his land. \{So there must be something wrong with the Lord!\}’


“But it was I who taught Ephraim {\cf2\super [118]} to walk!\par I took the Israelites in my arms!\par I healed them!\par But they don’t know that.\par


“Come, let’s go back to the Lord.\par He hurt us, but he will heal us.\par He wounded us,\par but he will put bandages on us.\par


“But, for my followers, goodness will shine on you like the rising sun. And it will bring healing power like the sun’s rays. You will be free and happy, like calves freed from their stalls. {\cf2\super [21]}


Christ carried our sins in his body on the cross. He did this so that we would stop living for sin and live for what is right. By his (Christ’s) wounds you were healed.


It flows down the middle of the street of the city. The tree of life was on each side of the river. The tree of life makes fruit twelve times a year. It gives fruit every month. The leaves of the tree are for healing all the people.
