The Lord my Master will help me. So the bad things they say will not hurt me. I will be strong. I know I will not be disappointed.


“As for you, Jeremiah, get ready.\par Stand up and speak to the people.\par Tell them everything that I tell you to say.\par Don’t be afraid of the people.\par If you are afraid of the people,\par then I will give you good reason\par to be afraid of them.\par


All those people will fight against you,\par but they will not defeat you.\par Why? Because I am with you,\par and I will save you.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par


Mother, I (Jeremiah) am sorry\par that you gave birth to me.\par I am the person that must accuse\par and criticize the whole land.\par I have not loaned or borrowed anything.\par But every person curses me.\par


I will make you strong.\par Those people will think you are strong\par like a wall made of bronze.\par The people of Judah will fight against you.\par But they will not defeat you.\par They will not defeat you.\par Why? Because I am with you.\par I will help you and I will save you.”\par


But the Lord is with me.\par The Lord is like a strong soldier.\par So the people that are chasing me will fall.\par Those people will not defeat me.\par Those people will fail.\par They will be disappointed.\par Those people will be ashamed.\par And people will never forget that shame.\par


This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have weapons of war in your hands. You are using those weapons to defend yourselves against the king of Babylon and the Babylonians. {\cf2\super [168]} But I will make those weapons worthless.


There was an important man named Ahikam son of Shaphan. Ahikam supported Jeremiah. So Ahikam kept Jeremiah from being killed by the priests and prophets.


Zedekiah, you will not escape from the king of Babylon. You will surely be caught and given to him. You will see the king of Babylon with your own eyes. He will talk to you face to face, and you will go to Babylon.


“This is what the Lord, the God of the people of Israel, says: ‘Jehucal and Zephaniah, I know that Zedekiah king of Judah, sent you to me to ask questions. Tell this to King Zedekiah: Pharaoh’s army marched out of Egypt to come here to help you against the army of Babylon. But Pharaoh’s army will go back to Egypt.


But if you refuse to surrender then Jerusalem will be given to the Babylonian army. They will burn Jerusalem down, and you will not escape from them.’”


“This is what the Lord says: ‘Everyone that stays in Jerusalem will die by a sword, or hunger, or terrible sickness. But everyone that surrenders to the army of Babylon will live. Those people will escape with their lives.’


“Jeremiah, I (the Lord) made you\par like a worker that tests metals.\par You will test my people\par and watch how they live.\par


Then Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at Simon and said, “You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas.” (“Cephas” means “Peter. {\cf2\super [29]} ”)


The person that wins the victory will be a pillar {\cf2\super [28]} in the temple {\cf2\super [29]} of my God. I will do that for the person that wins the victory. That person will never again have to leave God’s temple. I will write the name of my God on that person. And I will write the name of the city of my God on that person. That city is the new Jerusalem. {\cf2\super [30]} That city is coming down out of heaven from my God. I will also write my new name on that person.
