The Lord God is my helper: therefore am I not confounded. Therefore have I set my face as a most hard rock: and I know that I shall not be confounded.


Thou therefore gird up thy loins and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee. Be not afraid at their presence: for I will make thee not to fear their countenance.


And they shall fight against thee and shall not prevail: for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.


Woe is me, my mother! Why hast thou borne me, a man of strife, a man of contention to all the earth? I have not lent on usury, neither hath any man lent to me on usury: yet all curse me.


And I will make thee to this people as a strong wall of brass: and they shall fight against thee and shall not prevail. For I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord.


But the Lord is with me as a strong warrior: therefore they that persecute me shall fall and shall be weak. They shall be greatly confounded, because they have not understood the everlasting reproach which never shall be effaced.


Thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, and with which you fight against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans that besiege you round about the walls: and I will gather them together in the midst of this city.


So the hand of Ahicam the son of Saphan was with Jeremias, that he should not be delivered into the hands of the people, to put him to death.


And thou shalt not escape out of his hand, but thou shalt surely be taken: and thou shalt be delivered into his hand. And thy eyes shall see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak with thy mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.


And the Chaldeans shall come again and fight against this city and take it and burn it with fire.


But if thou wilt not go out to the princes of the king of Babylon, this city shall be delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans. And they shall burn it with fire: and thou shalt not escape out of their hands.


Thus saith the Lord: Whosoever shell remain in this city shall die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence: but he that shall go forth to the Chaldeans shall live, and his life shall be safe, and he shall live.


Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword and by famine and by pestilence, in the place to which you desire to go to dwell there.


I have set thee for a strong trier among my people: and thou shalt know, and prove their way.


And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said: Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted Peter.


He that shall overcome, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go out no more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.
