People who use the things of the world should live like those things are not important to them. You should live like this, because this world, the way it is now, will soon be gone.

Not only those things, but now I think that all things are worth nothing compared with the greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Because of Christ, I lost all those things \{I thought were important\}. And now I know that all those things are worthless trash. This allows me to have Christ.

Give this command to the people who are rich with the things this world has. Tell them not to be proud. Tell those rich people to hope in God, not their money. Money cannot be trusted. But God takes care of us richly. He gives us everything to enjoy.

You don’t know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a fog. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away.

The Scripture {\cf2\super [12]} says,

The world is passing away. And all the things that people want in the world are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever.
