I was embarrassed to ask King Artaxerxes for soldiers and horsemen to protect us as we traveled. There were enemies on the road. The reason I was embarrassed to ask for protection was because of what we had told the king. We had said to King Artaxerxes, “Our God is with every person that trusts him. But God is very angry with every person that turns away from him.”
\{But the Lord says,\}\par “Your people have died,\par but they will live again.\par The bodies of my people\par will rise from death.\par Dead people in the ground,\par stand and be happy!\par The dew covering you is like\par the dew sparkling in the light of a new day.\par It shows a new time is coming when the earth\par will give up the dead people\par that are in it.”\par
The desert will be full of growing flowers and will begin to show its happiness. It will seem like the desert is dancing with joy.
