27 \{Assyria {\cf2\super [125]} will bring troubles to you—those troubles will be like weights you have to carry on\} a pole across your shoulder. But, that pole will be taken off your neck. That pole will be broken by your strength (God).

I hope no rain or dew falls on the mountains of Gilboa. I hope there will be no offerings coming from those fields. The shields of the heroes rusted there. Saul’s shield was not rubbed with oil.


God said,\par “Don’t hurt my chosen people.\par Don’t do anything bad to my prophets. {\cf2\super [549]} ”\par


For the good of your servant, David,\par don’t reject your chosen king.\par


Now I know the Lord helps\par the king he chose!\par God was in his holy heaven,\par and he answered his chosen king.\par God used his great power to save the king.\par


You love goodness and you hate evil.\par So God, your God, chose you to be king\par over your friends. {\cf2\super [275]} \par


God says,\par “I took the load from your shoulder.\par I let you drop the worker’s basket.\par


God, protect our protector. {\cf2\super [489]} \par Be kind to your chosen king. {\cf2\super [490]} \par


I will destroy the king of Assyria in my country. I will trample (walk on) that king on my mountains. That king made my people be his slaves; he put a yoke {\cf2\super [153]} on their necks. That pole will be taken off Judah’s neck. That burden will be removed.


At that time, the Lord will send rain for you. You will plant seeds in the ground, and the ground will grow food for you. You will have a very large harvest. You will have plenty of food in the fields for your animals. There will be large fields for your sheep.


I will protect this city and save it.\par I will do this for myself\par and for my servant David.”\par


Shake off the dust!\par Put on your wonderful clothes!\par Jerusalem, Daughter of Zion, {\cf2\super [422]} \par you were a prisoner.\par But now, free yourself from the chains\par that are around your neck!\par


Why waste your money on something\par that is not real food?\par Why should you work for something\par that does not really satisfy you?\par Listen very closely to me,\par and you will eat the good food.\par You will enjoy the food\par that satisfies your soul.\par

“At that time,” this message is from the Lord All-Powerful, “I will break the yoke {\cf2\super [235]} from the necks of the people of Israel and Judah. And I will break the ropes holding you. People from foreign countries will never again force my people to be slaves.


It will be a dark day in Tahpanhes\par when I break Egypt’s control. {\cf2\super [250]} \par Egypt’s proud power will be finished!\par A cloud will cover Egypt,\par and her daughters will be captured\par and taken away.\par


Those are the parts from the offerings made by fire to the Lord that were given to Aaron and his sons. Whenever Aaron and his sons serve as the Lord’s priests, they get that share of the sacrifices.


“The Spirit of the Lord (God) has come to me.\par God chose me to tell good news to people\par that are poor.\par God sent me to tell people who are\par prisoners that they are free,\par and to tell the blind people\par that they can see again.\par God sent me to free the weak people\par from their suffering\par

You have the gift {\cf2\super [6]} that the Holy One (God or Christ) gave you. So you all know \{the truth\}.


Christ gave you a special gift. {\cf2\super [8]} You still have this gift in you. So you don’t need any person to teach you. The gift he gave you teaches you about everything. This gift is true. It is not false. So continue to live in Christ, like his gift taught you.
