Then Cain said, “This punishment is more than I can bear!


Look, you are forcing me to leave my land. I won’t be able to see you or be near you! I won’t have a home! I will be forced to wander from place to place on the earth. And whoever finds me will kill me.”


God changed the fertile land\par and it became worthless salty land.\par Why? Because of the bad people\par who were living in that place.\par


Let them lose their home\par and become beggars.\par


If a person is guilty of killing another person, then that person will never have peace. Don’t support that person.


Those people will not listen to my God.\par So he will refuse to listen to them.\par And they will wander among the nations\par without a home.\par


The fields are ruined.\par Even the ground is crying.\par Why? Because the grain is destroyed;\par the new wine is dried up,\par and the olive oil is gone.\par


I will be against you, so your enemies will defeat you. Those enemies hate you, and they will rule over you. You will run away even when no one is chasing you.


You will work hard, but it will not help. Your land will not give any crops, and your trees will not grow their fruit.


The survivors [449] will lose their courage in the land of their enemies. They will be scared of everything. They will run around like a leaf being blown by the wind. They will run like someone is chasing them with a sword. They will fall even when no one is chasing them!


Everything God made was changed to be like it was worth nothing. It did not want to change, but God decided to change it. But there was this hope:


“But if you don’t listen to things the Lord your God tells you—if you don’t obey all his commands and laws that I tell you today—then all these bad things will happen to you:
