But the people continued to sin against God.\par They turned against God Most-High even in the desert.\par


So the people turned against Moses and started arguing with him. The people said, “Give us water to drink.”


Moses named that place Meribah [116] and Massah, [117] because this was the place that the people of Israel turned against him and tested the Lord. The people wanted to know if the Lord was with them or not.


So the people named that place Kibroth Hattaavah. [165] They gave the place that name because that is the place they buried the people who had the strong desire for meat.


Then Moses said to Aaron, “Get your bronze [218] pan and some fire from the altar. [219] Then put incense [220] on it. Hurry to the group of people and do the things that will make the people pure. [221] The Lord is angry at them. The trouble has already started.”
