Giving money to poor people is like loaning it to the Lord. The Lord will pay you back for being kind to them.


But a good leader plans good things to do. And those good things make him a good leader.


Make the weak arms strong again. Make the weak knees strong.


Heal sick people. Give dead people life again. Heal those people that have leprosy. {\cf2\super [124]} Force demons {\cf2\super [125]} to leave people. I give you these powers freely. So help other people freely.


I always did what was best for you. I told you the Good News {\cf2\super [403]} about Jesus in public before the people and also taught in your homes.


I can say this because I know that I told you everything that God wants you to know.


You know that I always worked to take care of my own needs and the needs of the people that were with me.


When Paul finished saying these things, he kneeled down and they all prayed together.


We are strong with faith. So we should help the people who are weak. We should help those people with their weaknesses. We should not try to please ourselves.


When you sin against your brothers and sisters in Christ like this and you hurt them by causing them to do things they feel are wrong, then you are also sinning against Christ.


And I will continue doing what I am doing now. I will continue this because I want to stop those people from having a reason to boast. They would like to say that the work they boast about is the same as ours.


If I needed something when I was with you, I did not trouble any of you. The brothers who came from Macedonia gave me all that I needed. I did not allow myself to be a burden to you in any way. And I will never be a burden to you.


So you received everything that the other churches have received. Only one thing was different: I was not a burden to you. Forgive me for this!


You know the grace (kindness) of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that Christ was rich \{with God\}, but for you he became poor. Christ did this so that you could become rich by his becoming poor.


If a person is stealing, he must stop stealing. That person must start working. He must use his hands for doing something good. Then he will have something to share with those people who are poor.


Do all you can to live a peaceful life. Take care of your own business. Do your own work. We have already told you to do these things.


We ask you, brothers and sisters, to warn those people who don’t work. Encourage the people who are afraid. Help the people who are weak. Be patient with every person.


And don’t forget to do good for other people. And share with other people. These are the sacrifices that please God.


Don’t forget those people in prison. Remember them like you are in prison with them. And don’t forget those people who are suffering. Remember them like you are suffering with them.
