The king of Assyria sent his three most important commanders with a large army to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem. Those men left Lachish and went to Jerusalem. They stood near the aqueduct [225] by the Upper Pool. (The Upper Pool is on the road to the Washers’ Field.)


I defeated Samaria and her idols. I will also defeat Jerusalem and the idols her people have made.’”


During Hezekiah’s {\cf2\super [334]} 14th year as king, Sennacherib {\cf2\super [335]} king of Assyria went to fight against all the strong cities of Judah. Sennacherib defeated those cities.


That water will spill out of that river and flow into Judah. The water will rise to Judah’s throat—\{it will almost drown Judah\}.


“Go along the rows of Judah’s grapevines.\par Cut down the vines.\par (But don’t completely destroy them.)\par Cut off all their branches.\par Why? Because they don’t belong to the Lord.\par
