“Now, Lord God, get up,\par and come to your special place,\par the Box of the Agreement {\cf2\super [114]} \par that shows your strength.\par May your priests be dressed with salvation.\par May your true followers be happy\par about these good things.\par


God makes proud people ashamed.\par But God helps humble people.\par


Right living was my clothing.\par Fairness was like my robe and turban. {\cf2\super [61]} \par


I will clothe the priests with salvation.\par And my followers will be very happy here.\par


Lord, your priests are dressed in goodness.\par Your loyal followers are very happy.\par


God is very important,\par but he still cares for humble people.\par God knows what proud people do,\par but he stays far away from them.\par


It is much better for the king to invite you himself. But if you invite yourself, then you might be embarrassed in front of other people.


If a person is proud and makes fun of other people, the Lord will punish him and make fun of him. But the Lord is kind to humble people.


God is high and lifted up.\par God lives forever.\par God’s name is holy.\par God says:\par I live in a high and holy place,\par but also with people that are\par sad and humble.\par I will give new life to the people\par that are humble in spirit.\par I will give new life to the people\par that are sad in their hearts.\par


“The Lord makes me very, very happy.\par My whole self is happy in my God.\par The Lord put the clothes of salvation on me.\par These clothes are like the nice clothes\par a man wears at his wedding.\par The Lord put the coat of goodness on me.\par This coat is like the beautiful clothes\par a woman wears at her wedding.\par

Then all the leaders of the countries by the sea will step down from their thrones \{and show their sadness\}. They will take off their special robes. They will take off their beautiful clothes. Then they will put on their ‘clothes of shaking’ (fear). They will sit on the ground and shake with fear. They will be shocked at how quickly you were destroyed.


The northern army will be defeated, and those soldiers will be carried away. The southern king will be very proud, and he will kill thousands of soldiers from the northern army. But he will not continue to be successful.


“Show honor to old people. Stand up when they come into the room. Show respect to your God. I am the Lord!


But you must not be like that. The greatest person should become like the youngest person! Leaders should be like servants.


Love each other in a way that you feel close to each other like brothers and sisters. You should want to give your brothers and sisters more honor than you want for yourself.


But become like the Lord Jesus Christ, so when people see what you do, they will see Christ. Don’t think about how to satisfy your sinful self and the bad things you want to do.


Be willing to serve each other. Do this because you respect Christ.


When you do things, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble and give more honor to other people than to yourselves.


God has chosen you and made you his holy people. {\cf2\super [18]} He loves you. So always do these things: Show mercy to people; be kind, humble, gentle, and patient.


Don’t speak angrily to an older man. But talk to him like he was your father. Treat the younger men like brothers.


Obey your leaders and be under their authority. Those men are responsible for you. So they are always watching to protect your souls. Obey those men so that they can be happy in this work. It won’t help you to make it hard for them.


But the grace (kindness) that God gives is greater. Like the Scripture says, “God is against proud people, but he gives grace (kindness) to people who are humble.” {\cf2\super [22]}


So all of you should live together in peace. Try to understand each other. Love each other like brothers. Be kind and humble.


Christ suffered while he was in his body. So you should strengthen yourselves with the same kind of thinking Christ had. The person who has suffered in his body is finished with sin.


But those people will have to explain about the things they have done. They will have to explain to the One (Christ) who is ready to judge the people who are living and the people who have died.
