The people in the cities had no power. They people were scared and confused. They were about to be cut down like grass and plants in the field. They were like grass growing on the housetops, dying before it grows tall.


Man’s life is like a flower. He grows quickly, and then dies away. Man’s life is like a shadow that is here for a short time, and then it is gone.


My strength is gone—\par I am like dry, dying grass.\par I even forget to eat my food.\par


God knows our lives are short.\par He knows our lives are like grass.\par


Those people were like grass on the roof.\par That grass dies before it has time to grow.\par


Evil people are like grass and green plants\par that quickly turn brown and die.\par


Our life is like an image \{in a mirror\}. {\cf2\super [239]} \par We rush through life collecting things,\par but we don’t know who will get them\par \{after we die\}.\par


You sweep us away.\par Our life is like a dream,\par and in the morning,\par we are gone.\par We are like grass.\par


Wicked people live and die like weeds.\par And the worthless things they do\par will be destroyed forever.\par


The Lord says,\par “I am the One who comforts you.\par So why should you be afraid of people?\par They are only people that live and die.\par They are only humans—\par they die the same as grass.”\par


God clothes the grass in the field like that. That grass is living today, but tomorrow it is thrown into the fire to be burned. So you know that God will clothe you much more. Don’t have so little faith!


You don’t know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a fog. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away.


The world is passing away. And all the things that people want in the world are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever.
