And said: Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither. The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. As it hath pleased the Lord so is it done. Blessed be the name of the Lord.


Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and multipliest thy wrath upon me; and pains war against me.


For thou writest bitter things against me, and wilt consume me for the sins of my youth.


But now my sorrow hath oppressed me: and all my limbs are brought to nothing.


For he hath opened his quiver, and hath afflicted me, and hath put a bridle into my mouth.


And I will come to you in judgment, and will be a speedy witness against sorcerers, and adulterers, and false swearers, and them that oppress the hireling in his wages; the widows, and the fatherless: and oppress the stranger, and have not feared me, saith the Lord of hosts.


If you would wait till they were grown up, and come to man's estate, you would be old women before you marry. Do not so, my daughters, I beseech you: for I am grieved the more for your distress, and the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.
