How canst thou say: I am not polluted, and I have not walked after Baalim? See thy ways in the valley, know what thou hast done: as a swift runner pursuing his course.


As the thief is confounded when he is taken, so is the house of Israel confounded, they and their kings, their princes and their priests and their prophets.


But he answering said to one of them: Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst thou not agree with me for a penny?


And Jesus said to him: Friend, whereto art thou come? Then they came up, and laid hands on Jesus, and held him.


For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.


Now we know, that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be made subject to God.


Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God.


Knowing that he, that is such an one, is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned by his own judgment.


He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness: because no man shall prevail by his own strength.
