Saul and Jonathan, lovely, and comely in their life, even in death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.


For David had offered that day a reward to whosoever should strike the Jebusites and get up to the gutters of the tops of the houses, and take away the blind and the lame that hated the soul of David. Therefore it is said in the proverb: The blind and the lame shall not come into the temple.


And of Aser, forty thousand going forth to fight, and challenging in battle.


He hath compassed me round about with his lances; he hath wounded my loins; he hath not spared; and hath poured out my bowels on the earth.


May he give thee according to thy own heart; and confirm all thy counsels.


The locust hath no king, yet they all go out by their bands.


Scale down the walls thereof and throw them down, but do not utterly destroy: take away the branches thereof, because they are not the Lord's.


No one shall press upon his brother: they shall walk every one in his path: yea, and they shall fall through the windows, and shall take no harm.


They shall enter into the city: they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up the houses, they shall come in at the windows as a thief.
