Saul and Jonathan, lovely, and comely in their life, even in death they were not divided: they were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.


And Joab the son of Sarvia, understanding that the king's heart was turned to Absalom,


And Asael pursued after Abner, and turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.


Making my feet like the feet of harts, and setting me upon my high places.


Asael the brother of Joab was one of the thirty, Elehanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem.


Thou knowest also what Joab the son of Sarvia hath done to me, what he did to the two captains of the army of Israel, to Abner the son of Ner, and to Amasa the son of Jether: whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war on his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.


Moreover the most valiant men of the army were Asahel brother of Joab, and Elchanan the son of his uncle of Bethlehem,


From Gaddi also there went over to David, when he lay hid in the wilderness, most valiant men, and excellent warriors, holding shield and spear. Their faces were like the faces of a lion; and they were swift like the roebucks on the mountains.

And flight shall perish from the swift, and the valiant shall not possess his strength, neither shall the strong save his life.


The Lord God is my strength: and he will make my feet like the feet of harts: and he the conqueror will lead me upon my high places singing psalms.


David spoke to Achimelech the Hethite, and Abisai the son of Sarvia the brother of Joab, saying: Who will go down with me to Saul into the camp? And Abisai said: I will go with thee.
