And Elias the Thesbite of the inhabitants of Galaad said to Achab: As the Lord liveth, the God of Israel, in whose sight I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to the words of my mouth.


And the man of God was angry with him, and said: If thou hadst smitten five or six or seven times, thou hadst smitten Syria even to utter destruction. But now three times shalt thou smite it.


And he said to Giezi his servant: Call this Sunamitess. And when he had called her, and she stood before him,


So she went forward, and came to the man of God to mount Carmel. And when the man of God saw her coming towards, he said to Giezi his servant: Behold that Sunamitess.


But Giezi was gone before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child: and there was no voice nor sense. And he returned to meet him, and told him, saying: The child is not risen.


And he called Giezi, and said to him: Call this Sunamitess. And she being called went in to him. And he said: Take up thy son.


But he answered: As the Lord liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And when he pressed him, he still refused.


And Giezi followed after Naaman: and when he saw him running after him, he leapt down from his chariot to meet him, and said: Is all well?


And the king said: May God do so and so to me, and may he add more, if the head of Eliseus the son of Saphat shall stand on him this day.


And the king talked with Giezi, the servant of the man of God, saying: Tell me all the great things that Eliseus hath done.


Eliseus also came to Damascus; and Benadad king of Syria was sick. And they told him, saying: The man of God is come hither.


For, lo, the wicked have bent their bow; they have prepared their arrows in the quiver, to shoot in the dark the upright of heart.


Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house: neither shalt thou desire his wife, nor his servant, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.


Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain.

As the Lord liveth who is the saviour of Israel, if it was done by Jonathan my son, he shall surely die. In this none of the people gainsaid him.
