Romans 12:8

For I have chosen  him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’


A generous person  will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.


In the morning sow your seed, and at evening do not let your hand rest, because you don’t know which will succeed, whether one or the other, or if both of them will be equally good.


Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength,  because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom  in Sheol where you are going.


A fool will no longer be called a noble, nor a scoundrel said to be important.


But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.


You welcome the one who joyfully does what is right; they remember you in your ways. But we have sinned, and you were angry. How can we be saved if we remain in our sins?


‘And the King will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”


When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts,


Then, when he saw what happened, the proconsul believed, because he was astonished at the teaching of the Lord.


After the reading of the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, ‘Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, you can speak.’


Both Judas and Silas, who were also prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers and sisters and strengthened them with a long message.


And when he had passed through those areas and offered them many words of encouragement, he came to Greece


Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock  of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers,  to shepherd the church of God,  which he purchased with his own blood.


Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus by birth, the one the apostles called Barnabas (which is translated Son of Encouragement),


Share with the saints in their needs;  pursue hospitality.


And for this reason you pay taxes, since the authorities are God’s servants, continually attending to these tasks.


And God has appointed these in the church:  first apostles, second prophets, third teachers,  next miracles,  then gifts of healing,  helping, leading, various kinds of tongues.


On the other hand, the person who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening,  encouragement, and consolation.


Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony  of our conscience  is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially towards you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom  but by God’s grace.


But I fear that, as the serpent  deceived  Eve  by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure  devotion to Christ.


For if the eagerness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.


You will be enriched  in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us.


Because of the proof provided by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedient confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity  in sharing with them and with everyone.


Each person should do as he has decided in his heart #– #not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves  a cheerful giver.


Slaves, obey your human  masters  with fear and trembling,  in the sincerity  of your heart, as you would Christ.


Give generously to him from your flock, your threshing-floor, and your winepress. You are to give him whatever the Lord your God has blessed you with.


Rejoice  before the Lord your God in the place where he chooses to have his name dwell #– #you, your son and daughter, your male and female slave, the Levite within your city gates, as well as the resident foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow among you.


Slaves, obey your human  masters in everything. Don’t work only while being watched, as people-pleasers, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord.


For our exhortation didn’t come from error or impurity  or an intent to deceive.


We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.


Until I come,  give your attention to public reading, exhortation, and teaching.


The elders who are good leaders are to be considered worthy of double honour,  especially those who work hard  at preaching and teaching.


Instruct them to do what is good, to be rich in good works,  to be generous and willing to share,


not neglecting to gather together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other,  and all the more as you see the day approaching.


Obey your leaders  and submit to them, since they keep watch  over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.


Brothers and sisters, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.


Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy send you greetings.


Remember your leaders who have spoken God’s word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith.
