Luke 11:35
17 Tagairtí Cros

There is a way that seems right to a person, but its end is the way to death.

Do you see a person who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

‘The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

Your eye is the lamp of the body.   When your eye is healthy, your whole body is also full of light. But when it is bad,   your body is also full of darkness.

If, therefore, your whole body is full of light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be entirely illuminated, as when a lamp shines its light on you.’

Claiming to be wise, they became fools

The person who lacks these things is blind and short-sighted and has forgotten the cleansing from his past sins.

For by uttering boastful, empty words,  they seduce, with fleshly desires and debauchery, people who have barely escaped  from those who live in error.

For you say, “I’m rich; I have become wealthy and need nothing,”   and you don’t realise that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.
