Meanwhile, the Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and the captain of the guards.


King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials,  surrendered to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.


On  the seventh day of the fifth month #– #which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon #– #Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, a servant of the king of Babylon, entered Jerusalem.


But since our ancestors angered the God of the heavens, he handed them over to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, the Chaldean, who destroyed this temple and deported the people to Babylon.


and replied to the king, ‘May the king live for ever! Why should I  not be sad when the city where my ancestors are buried lies in ruins and its gates have been destroyed by fire? ’

Speaking through Nebuzaradan, captain of the guards, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon gave orders concerning Jeremiah:


Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards,  deported the rest of the people to Babylon #– #those who had remained in the city and those deserters who had defected to him along with the rest of the people who remained.


The whole Chaldean army with the captain of the guards tore down all the walls surrounding Jerusalem.


in his eighteenth year,  832 people from Jerusalem;


In the third year of the reign of King Jehoiakim  of Judah, King Nebuchadnezzar  , of Babylon came to Jerusalem and laid siege to it.


Then Daniel responded with tact and discretion to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard,  , who had gone out to execute the wise men of Babylon.


The Lord of Armies says this: ‘The fast of the fourth month,  the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth  will become times of joy, gladness, and cheerful festivals for the house of Judah. Therefore, love truth and peace.’
