Jacob, why do you say, and Israel, why do you assert, ‘My way is hidden from the  Lord, and my claim is ignored by my God’?


Shout for joy, you heavens! Earth, rejoice! Mountains, break into joyful shouts! For the Lord has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.


‘Can a woman forget her nursing child, or lack compassion for the child of her womb? Even if these forget, yet I will not forget you.


For the Lord has called you, like a wife deserted and wounded in spirit, a wife of one’s youth  when she is rejected,’ says your God.


I will surely forget you.  I will throw you away from my presence #– #both you and the city that I gave you and your ancestors.


the Lord appeared to him  from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you.


Why do you continually forget us, abandon us for our entire lives?


‘Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, “You have said this: ‘Our transgressions and our sins are heavy on us, and we are wasting away because of them!  How then can we survive? ’ ”
