Cry out and sing, citizen of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel  is among you in his greatness.’


Your eyes will see the King in his beauty; you will see a vast land.


I will open rivers on the barren heights, and springs in the middle of the plains. I will turn the desert into a pool and dry land into springs.


Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers  in the desert.


Wild animals – jackals and ostriches #– #will honour me, because I provide water in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.


If only you had paid attention to my commands. Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.


For this is what the Lord says: I will make peace flow to her like a river, and the wealth  of nations like a flood; you will nurse and be carried on her hip and bounced on her lap.


For look, I am raising my hand against them, and they will become plunder for their own servants.  Then you will know that the Lord of Armies has sent me.


He considers no disaster for Jacob; he sees no trouble for Israel. The Lord their God is with them, and there is rejoicing over the King among them.
