20 Look at Zion, the city of our festival times. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful pasture,  a tent that does not wander; its tent pegs will not be pulled up nor will any of its cords be loosened.

Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings.


There will be times of security for you – a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.


‘Therefore, this is what the Lord says about the king of Assyria: He will not enter this city, shoot an arrow here, come before it with a shield, or build up a siege ramp against it.


Then the Lord will create  a cloud of smoke by day  and a glowing flame of fire by night over the entire site of Mount Zion and over its assemblies. For there will be a canopy over all the glory,


‘Enlarge the site of your tent, and let your tent curtains be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your ropes, and drive your pegs deep.


You will see, you will rejoice, and you  will flourish like grass; then the Lord’s power will be revealed to his servants, but he will show his wrath against his enemies.


The perimeter of the city will be 9.6 kilometres,  and the name of the city from that day on will be The Lord Is There.’


‘Next to the territory of Judah, from the east side to the west, will be the portion you donate to the Lord, 13.25 kilometres  wide, and as long as one of the tribal portions from the east side to the west.  The sanctuary will be in the middle of it.


And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church,   and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.


Instead, turn to the place the Lord your God chooses  from all your tribes to put his name for his dwelling and go there.


‘All your males are to appear three times a year  before the Lord your God in the place he chooses: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters. No one is to appear before the Lord empty-handed.


‘The one who conquers I will make a pillar   in the temple of my God, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God #– #the new Jerusalem,   which comes down out of heaven from my God #– #and my new name.
