Lord, who is like you among the gods? Who is like you, glorious in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?


Therefore the Lord God of Armies will inflict an emaciating disease on the well-fed of Assyria, and he will kindle a burning fire under its glory.


He will lift up a banner for the nations and gather the dispersed of Israel; he will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.


On that day the splendour of Jacob will fade, and his healthy body  will become emaciated.


A troubling vision is declared to me: ‘The treacherous one acts treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Advance, Elam! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning.’


You have added to the nation,  Lord. You have added to the nation; you are honoured. You have expanded all the borders of the land.


On that day the Lord of Armies will become a crown of beauty and a diadem of splendour to the remnant of his people,


Woe, you destroyer never destroyed, you traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, they will betray you.


Sing a new song to the  Lord; sing his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea with all that fills it, you coasts and islands with your   inhabitants.


You have never heard; you have never known; for a long time your ears have not been open. For I knew that you were very treacherous, and were known as a rebel from birth.


The Lord has displayed his holy arm in the sight of all the nations; all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.


Then I said: Woe is me,  for I am ruined, because I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips, and because my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Armies.


All your people will be righteous; they will possess the land for ever; they are the branch I planted, the work of my   hands, so that I may be glorified.


You will be righteous, Lord, even if I bring a case against you. Yet I wish to contend with you: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the treacherous live at ease?


Even your brothers #– #your own father’s family – even they were treacherous to you; even they have cried out loudly after you. Do not have confidence in them, though they speak well of you.


However, as a woman may betray her lover, so you have betrayed  me, house of Israel. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


They, the house of Israel and the house of Judah, have dealt very treacherously with me. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


She weeps bitterly during the night, with tears on her cheeks. There is no one to offer her comfort, not one from all her lovers.  , All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.


They betrayed the  Lord; indeed, they gave birth to illegitimate children. Now the New Moon  will devour them along with their fields.


But they, like Adam,  have violated the covenant; there they have betrayed me.


Those  who survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away because of their iniquity; they will also waste away because of their ancestors’ iniquities along with theirs.


He will stand and shepherd them in the strength of the  Lord, in the majestic name of the  Lord his God. They will live securely, for then his greatness will extend to the ends of the earth.


Your eyes  are too pure  to look on evil, and you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. So why do you tolerate those who are treacherous? Why are you silent while one  who is wicked swallows up one  who is more righteous than himself?


Why do you force me to look at injustice? Why do you tolerate   wrongdoing? Oppression and violence are right in front of me. Strife is ongoing, and conflict escalates.


He will send out the angels   and gather his elect   from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.


For this is what the Lord has commanded us: I have made you a light for the Gentiles to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’  ,


They sang the song of God’s servant Moses  and the song of the Lamb: Great and awe-inspiring are your works, Lord God, the Almighty; just and true  are your ways, King of the nations.  ,
