When the boys grew up, Esau became an expert hunter, an outdoorsman,  but Jacob was a quiet man who stayed at home.


So he said, ‘Isn’t he rightly named Jacob?  , For he has cheated me twice now. He took my birthright, and look, now he has taken my blessing.’ Then he asked, ‘Haven’t you saved a blessing for me? ’


until your brother’s rage turns away from you and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send for you and bring you back from there. Why should I lose you both in one day? ’


he said: Canaan is cursed. He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.


True wisdom and power belong to him. The deceived and the deceiver are his.


The one who does the  Lord’s business deceitfully  is cursed, and the one who withholds his sword from bloodshed is cursed.


‘The deceiver is cursed who has an acceptable male in his flock and makes a vow but sacrifices a defective animal to the Lord.  For I am a great King,’ says the Lord of Armies, ‘and my name will be feared among the nations.


through glory  and dishonour, through slander and good report; regarded as deceivers, yet true;


“The one who leads a blind person astray on the road is cursed.” And all the people will say, “Amen! ”
