Three times a year Solomon offered burnt offerings and fellowship offerings on the altar he had built for the Lord, and he burned incense with them in the Lord’s presence.  So he completed the temple.


He followed the daily requirement  for offerings according to the commandment of Moses  for Sabbaths, New Moons, and the three annual appointed festivals: the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters.


Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord God.


‘Do not make cast images  of gods for yourselves.


‘Observe the Festival of Unleavened Bread. You are to eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of Abib,  as I commanded you, for you came out of Egypt in the month of Abib.


‘When the people of the land come before the Lord at the appointed times,  , whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship is to go out by way of the south gate, and whoever enters by way of the south gate is to go out by way of the north gate. No one may return through the gate by which he entered, but is to go out by the opposite gate.


You are to count fifty days until the day after the seventh Sabbath and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord.


‘Tell the Israelites: The Festival of Shelters  , to the Lord begins on the fifteenth day of this seventh month and continues for seven days.


‘These are the Lord’s appointed times, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times.


The Passover  to the Lord comes in the first month, at twilight on the fourteenth day of the month.


‘Set aside the month of Abib  , and observe the Passover to the Lord your God, because the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night in the month of Abib.


‘All your males are to appear three times a year  before the Lord your God in the place he chooses: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters. No one is to appear before the Lord empty-handed.


This man would go up from his town every year  to worship and to sacrifice  to the Lord of Armies at Shiloh,  where Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were the Lord’s priests.
