Instead fear the Lord, who brought you up from the land of Egypt with great power  and an outstretched arm.  You are to bow down to him, and you are to sacrifice to him.


This disaster happened because the people of Israel sinned against the Lord their God who had brought them out of the land of Egypt from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt  and because they worshipped  other gods.


So the prophet Isaiah called out to the Lord, and he brought the shadow  back the ten steps it had descended on the stairway of Ahaz.  ,


You saw the oppression of our ancestors in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea.


The Lord will fight for you, and you must be quiet.’


As for you, lift up your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.


Then Moses cried out to the Lord, ‘What should I do with these people? In a little while they will stone me! ’


The Lord then said to Joshua, ‘Stand up! Why have you fallen face down?
