He said, ‘If you will carefully obey the Lord your God, do what is right in his sight, pay attention to his commands, and keep all his statutes, I will not inflict any illnesses on you that I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.’


Tell the righteous that it will go well for them, for they will eat the fruit of their labour.


He said, ‘Please, Lord, remember how I have walked before you faithfully and wholeheartedly,  and have done what pleases you.’  And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


But you may ask, “Why doesn’t the son suffer punishment for the father’s iniquity? ”  Since the son has done what is just and right, carefully observing all my statutes, he will certainly live.


‘But if the wicked person turns from all the sins he has committed,  keeps all my statutes, and does what is just and right, he will certainly live; he will not die.


But if a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he will preserve his life.


‘Suppose a man is righteous and does what is just and right:


‘ “So when I tell the wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ but he repents of his sin and does what is just and right #– #


None of the sins he committed will be held  against him. He has done what is just and right; he will certainly live.


But if a wicked person turns from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live because of it.


Let whoever is wise  understand these things, and whoever is insightful recognise them. For the ways of the  Lord are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.


The one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone,   because I always do what pleases him.’


Do not be conformed  to this age,  but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,  so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will  of God.


Do not eat it, so that you and your children after you will prosper, because you will be doing what is right in the Lord’s sight.


Be careful to obey all these things I command you, so that you and your children after you may prosper for ever, because you will be doing what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.


This will occur if you obey the Lord your God, keeping all his commands I am giving you today, doing what is right in the sight of the Lord your God.


Keep his statutes and commands, which I am giving you today, so that you and your children after you may prosper and so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you for all time.’


If only they had such a heart to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that they and their children would prosper for ever.


Follow the whole instruction the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, prosper, and have a long life in the land you will possess.


‘When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that he would give you #– #a land with large and beautiful cities that you did not build,


by driving out all your enemies before you, as the Lord has said.


‘Be careful that you don’t forget the Lord your God by failing to keep his commands, ordinances, and statutes that I am giving you today.
