Two years later, Absalom’s sheep-shearers were at Baal-hazor near Ephraim, and Absalom invited all the king’s sons.


Then he went to the king and said, ‘Your servant has just hired sheep-shearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant? ’


Some soldiers also questioned him, ‘What should we do? ’ He said to them, ‘Don’t take money from anyone by force or false accusation, and be satisfied with your wages.’


so that you may be blameless  and pure,  children of God who are faultless  in a crooked  and perverted  generation,  among whom you shine like stars in the world,


Finally  brothers and sisters, whatever is true,  whatever is honourable,  whatever is just,  whatever is pure,  whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable #– #if there is any moral excellence  and if there is anything praiseworthy #– #dwell on these things.


In addition, every man who was desperate, in debt, or discontented rallied around him, and he became their leader. About four hundred men were with him.


David had just said, ‘I guarded everything that belonged to this man in the wilderness for nothing. He was not missing anything, yet he paid me back evil for good.
