for I will give you and your offspring  for ever all the land that you see.


Hear the petition of your servant and your people Israel, which they pray towards this place. May you hear in your dwelling place in heaven. May you hear and forgive.


When your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against you, and they return to you and praise your name, and they pray and plead with you for mercy in this temple,


When the skies are shut and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you, and they pray towards this place and praise your name, and they turn from their sins because you are afflicting them,


I will bring you to the land that I swore  , to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.’


‘Look, the days are coming’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #‘when I will sow the house of Israel  and the house of Judah with the seed of people and the seed of animals.


I will certainly gather them from all the lands where I have banished them in my anger, fury, and intense wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them live in safety.


He has carried out his words  that he spoke against us and against our rulers  , by bringing on us a disaster that is so great that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done  under all of heaven.


Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and act! My God, for your own sake, do not delay,  because your city and your people bear your name.


Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an Anointed One,  the ruler, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be rebuilt with a square and a moat, but in difficult times.


When the locusts finished eating the vegetation of the land,  I said, ‘Lord God, please forgive!  How will Jacob survive, since he is so small? ’


‘When all these things happen to you #– #the blessings and curses I have set before you #– #and you come to your senses while you are in all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you,


Even if your exiles are at the farthest horizon, he will gather you and bring you back from there.


So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there.
