14 ‘Notice I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the Lord  #– #3,450 tonnes of gold, 34,500 tonnes of silver,  , and bronze and iron that can’t be weighed because there is so much of it. I have also provided timber and stone, but you will need to add more to them.

The weight  of gold that came to Solomon annually was twenty-three tonnes,


Solomon left all the utensils unweighed because there were so many; the weight of the bronze was not determined.


As for the two pillars, the one basin, and the water carts that Solomon had made for the Lord’s temple, the weight of the bronze of all these articles was beyond measure.


You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and people skilled in every kind of work


David supplied a great deal of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gates and for the fittings, together with an immeasurable quantity of bronze,


So to the best of my ability I’ve made provision for the house of my God:  gold for the gold articles, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood, as well as onyx, stones for mounting,  antimony,  , stones of various colours, all kinds of precious stones, and a great quantity of marble.


As for the two pillars, the one basin, with the twelve bronze oxen under it, and the water carts  that King Solomon had made for the Lord’s temple, the weight of the bronze of all these articles was beyond measure.


Each silver dish weighed 1.5 kilograms,  and each basin 800 grams.  The total weight of the silver articles was 28 kilograms  measured by the standard sanctuary shekel.


During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.
