to turn aside the needy from justice, and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!


In thee have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the sojourner; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.


And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.


they that pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father go unto the same maiden, to profane my holy name:


And they covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.


Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.
